Earlier, the award had announced Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayyeb as Islamic Personality of the year.

Ibrahim Bu Melha, Chairman of the organising committee of the award, said due to the unstable situations and political unrest in Egypt, the award organising committee has decided to postpone honouring Dr Al Tayyeb to later years in response to his request.

"Instead, the award has chosen the popular Indian scholar Dr Zakir Naik as the Islamic Personality of the Year in appreciation to his tireless effort in the service of Islam and Quran."

Dr Zakir, who is also a surgeon, is the founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation. He has written two books on Islam and comparative religion. He is regarded as an exponent of the Salafi ideology.

In an interview with Khaleej Times last year, Dr Naik said all of his children - one son, 18, and two daughters, 16 and 14, have memorized the Holy Quran in full, have black belts, speak Arabic fluently, and study Islamic sciences. They are combining religious and world knowledge together.

“My son is even better than me; I only give lectures in English and Urdu, but he additionally speaks Arabic and sign language fluently. He also fully memorized the Quran unlike me. Also, my wife is giving Dawa in English and Urdu. Thanks to Allah, all my family members are calling from Islam.”

India may have banned Dr. Zakir Naik because of the influence of Hindus in the country controlled by Hindus but still Zakir Naik is loved by millions of Muslims in India and around the world. India Muslims came out and protested against the ban of Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik in India.
Because of Dawah, lectures and speeches by Zakir Naik thousands of Hindus willingly accepted Islam which most Hindus didn't like. Many Hindus were agitated by him, there was a conflict between Dr. Zakir Naik and Hindu majority in India as a result Hindu organizations openly and secretly pressed for his ban and finally the government banned him because of the pressure from Hindu majority denying Mr Naik the freedom of speech.

Batla house encounter verdict Muslims upset by injustice

As it was feared the court has convicted an innocent Muslim in Batla house fake encounter case. The court accused Shahzad Ahmed on charges of obstructing public servants in discharge of duties, murder of Inspector MC Sharma and attempt to murder.

Jamia Teachers' Solidarity Association (JTSA) which was formed in the wake of the Batla house police shootout in 2008, in its initial reaction, has expressed disappointment at the conviction. Most of the members of the JTSA, including Manisha Sethi, Sanghamitra Misra, Tanveer Fazal were present in the court.

Speaking to TCN from Azamgarh over phone, Dr. Javed Akhtar, President Association for Welfare, Medical, Educational and Legal Assistance (AWMELA), that is fighting the case on behalf of Shahzad too was "disappointed." He said that once the sentencing is announced on July 29, they will discuss the case minutely with their lawyers, adding that they will definitely appeal the conviction in the high court. He accepted that it is a "set back in their struggle for justice" and that media reports in last few weeks that the prosecution was not very convincing in providing evidence in support of their version, had made them hopeful and they were expecting a judgement in favor.

In what could be big relief to the Delhi Police, the court has accepted the police version of encounter. Shahzad Ahmed, Special Cell of the Delhi Police, claims was one of the occupants in the L 18 house in the Batla House, where the alleged encounter took place on September 19, 2008, six days after serial blasts in the city. According to the prosecution, he fired at Inspector Sharma and than escaped from the the House L 18 in Batla House, where the 'encounter' took place in 2008.

RTI activist Afroz Alam Sahil, who was first one to get copies of those killed in the police shoot out, is still hopeful of 'justice.' He said, "This judgement is from a district court and we still have the options of high court and the Supreme Court," adding that he firmly believes that in this country justice may be delayed, but is seldom denied.

SQR Ilyas, General Secretary of the Welfare Party of India, said that he is "dismayed" at the judgement, where all legal procedure has been put aside and the court accepted the police version, taking no cognizance of questions raised.

Civil society groups have been arguing that the L-18 flat in Batla House area has only one exit which was manned by police people; there is no possibility to escape by jumping. Anyone attempting that would only break his bones. Further that the local police was not informed in time and that the FIR was filed very late.

Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, President of All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat said in a written statement that it is too early to comment as we do not know in detail what the judgment really says. Questioning the police version, however, he said, "The 'input' for Batla House came from the same infamous IB special director who provided the fake inputs that were used for 17 fake encounters in Gujarat which are being probed now," adding, "We continue to beleive that the Batla House encounter was fake and we stand by our demand for a high level judicial enquiry into the incident."

The court faild to answer why inspector sharma was not wearing bullet proof jacket.
The court, during the arguments, questioned why Sharma was not wearing a bullet-proof jacket when he knew that he was leading the team to catch terror suspects and why two police officers were not carrying arms.
"Police had already information, receiving which a raiding party was formed well in advance. Despite all this, Inspector M.C. Sharma did not wear any body protection device i.e. bullet-proof jacket. Moreover, at least two members of the raiding party were having no weapon with them, despite knowing the fact that they may face firing."
"It is not clear whether it was merely a misadventure or lack of professionalism in Delhi Police or scarcity of weapons," the judge said.

Digvijaya Singh in his statement said "I stick to stand that Batla House encounter was fake."

Mohd. Firoz Alam said we will appeal in higher court against this verdict.

Manisha Sethi explaining why she thinks the Batla House Encounter was fake.

This case is far from over Muslims will appeal in higher court against this injustice. Muslims have been tolerating this nonsense and bias for far too long. It is not something new in this Hindu majority country where innocent Muslims in the past have been time and again framed and charged for terrorist activities.

Cow Slaughter hypocrisy

Hindus consider cow as holy and they oppose cow slaughter. In India the legality and illegality of cow slaughter depends on the state.
Some States allow the slaughter of cows with restrictions (like a 'fit-for-slaughter' certificate which may be issued depending on factors like age and gender of cattle, continued economic viability etc.). Others completely ban cattle slaughter, while there is no restriction in a few states, most notably Kerala.
Banning is absurd and it cannot stop cow slaughter for meat, it is secretly carried out in spite of the ban.

Hindus believe that cow is a very valuable animal at it gives milk which is used in so many things like dairy products.
The thing to be noted here is that dairy cow or a cow which gives milk is very expensive and no one slaughters expensive milk giving cows. The cows which are slaughtered are the ones who stop giving milk or become old.

The hypocrisy is that Hindus slaughter other animals like goat as holy sacrifice in many temples but they don't want Muslims to slaughter cows.

Hindu religion is a pagan religion they consider cow as holy as their gods. Every country in the world slaughters cow for meat. Beef is widely consumed meat all over the world.

Beef is very nutritious and delicious food.
Beef is a unique, special food. It offers a vast array of protein, vitamins, and minerals that are all essential for a healthy diet. It can be found in many low-fat cuts. There is no other single food that provides the same variety of health benefits found in beef. A serving of beef is a good, healthy addition to any diet. Beef is a great source of protein. Protein is great for providing the body with long-lasting energy. Protein is used by the body to maintain cellular functions, and so it is a vital component of any diet. One ounce of beef offers about 7 grams of protein. A daily requirement of protein for adults is approximately 46-56 grams. So, one three-ounce serving of beef a day can make up a significant portion of the necessary protein in a diet. Protein is not the only vital nutrient in beef, though. Beef is has an amazing variety of other important vitamins and minerals. Iron, a key mineral that helps get oxygen to all body cells, is found in abundance in beef. Beef is one of the best sources for iron, and can be especially good for pregnant or lactating women, who need increased iron stores. Many people suffer from iron-deficiency anemia, which can cause fatigue, headaches, and tiredness. Eating beef is one of the best ways to combat iron deficiency anemia--the large amount of iron found in beef makes it uniquely suited to benefit people with low iron. Some of the important vitamins found in beef include several B vitamins, including B12, folate, thiamine, and riboflavin. These B vitamins are essential for many body functions, and are especially important for converting food to energy. In addition to these essential vitamins, beef also offers vitamins E, K, and D. These vitamins are used in various important body functions. Vitamin E is an important antioxidant, and Vitamin K is vital to blood clotting and bone health. There are many important minerals found in beef, besides iron. These include potassium, calcium, zinc, and magnesium. The minerals found in beef are important for many essential body functions, including muscle, bone, and cellular functions. Many people are afraid that beef is a high-fat food, and avoid it. However, there are many cuts of beef that are classified as lean. Some of these cuts are eye round roast or steak, top sirloin steak, and tri-tip roast or steak. These cuts of beef are widely available at supermarkets, and many of them are very budget-friendly. Beef can be a healthy, low-in-fat part of the diet. Beef is an wonderful, healthy food. It provides an amazing amount of nutrition, even in a small serving. Beef is a great staple for a well-balanced diet.

Its high time that they understand cow slaughter is not different from goat slaughter for meat and cow is not holy, it is just like any other animal.

Hindu forces behind Bodh Gaya Blasts ?

RTI Activist Aroop Brahmachari says Hindu organizations known for terror mischief, Bodh Gaya Serial Blasts could  be their handiwork.

The Indian media which is largely controlled by Hindus is quick to point the finger at Muslim organizations without any proof. They are presuming that this blast is a reaction to the killing of Muslims in Myanmar.  Even if this comes out to be true than what has Indian government done to stop the killing of Muslims in Myanmar ? Instead there are allegations that Hindu fundamentalist organizations are secretly encouraging Buddhists in Myanmar to carry out the killings.

Aroop Brahmachari said Hindu organizations have  been involved in terror activities in the past and the role of Hindu organizations in this cannot be overlooked.

The timing of the bomb blasts is crucial because just one day before the blasts Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said - Nitish Kumar government should be taught a lesson for breaking alliance with the BJP.
Digvijay Singh rightly pointed out that that there could be Modi's hand in the blast.
The beneficiary of this blast is BJP and it can now lift a finger on Nitish Kumar's government.
